This is a shared position where you will work 60% at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research (IBF) and 20% at the Institute for Russia and Eurasian Studies (IRES).

The Institute for Housing and Urban Research (IBF) is a multidisciplinary research institute belonging to the Faculty of Social Sciences at Uppsala University. IBF conducts research focused on housing, building, and urban issues in a broad sense. More information about the institute's activities can be found at www.ibf.uu.se (http://www.ibf.uu.se).

At the Institute for Russia and Eurasian Studies (IRES), multidisciplinary research is conducted within social sciences and humanities, based on the study of Russia and the post-Soviet state formations. IRES also has an ambitious guest researcher program. Read more about IRES.

As an HR generalist at IBF and IRES, you will be part of the university's HR function and collaborate with the HR department at the university administration. You will participate in the administration's development work within the HR function and be part of the overall HR network. We prefer that you are on-site, but remote work once a week is possible.

As a part-time employee at Uppsala University, you always have the opportunity to apply for preferential rights to a higher employment rate if you wish to increase your hours.

Responsibilities:

Common to the work at both institutions is that you will independently be responsible for and work broadly within the entire HR area. You will provide consultative and service-oriented support to department heads, institutional management, and employees. The work involves driving and handling issues related to labor law, recruitment, competence supply, employment conditions, redundancy, rehabilitation, and personnel care and salary formation. Furthermore, personnel administration is included; vacations, leaves, foreign postings, drafting employment contracts, etc. You will also be the one planning for the reception of new employees and responsible for a larger part of the onboarding process. As multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research environments, a working environment characterized by integration and collaboration across different scientific and professional backgrounds is a prioritized issue. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can independently drive their own cases and issues while also wanting and being able to create good relationships. You are attentive to the needs of the organization and keep yourself updated on laws, agreements, regulations, directives, guidelines, collective agreements, processes, and routines within the HR area. Furthermore, administration regarding foreign researchers and doctoral students, as well as contacts with other authorities such as the Migration Agency, the Tax Agency, and the Social Insurance Agency, is also included.

At both institutions, you will be the convener for the various work environment and equal opportunity groups, keep minutes, and drive the work with regular employee surveys. At both institutions, you will participate in management group meetings. In your work, you will be embedded in the organization and work closely with department heads and economists and have direct personnel contact.

This position is suitable for you who thrive in a diverse role where you are responsible and involved in all HR processes, from strategic issues to carrying out personnel administrative work. Since you will be working at two different institutions, it may be an advantage if you have experience working with several managers/operations previously and know how to prioritize your work. In the employment, there is great opportunity to put your own stamp on the position.
